Cosmos House

Cosmos House is a proposed family home for five in AlUla, made for the Royal Commission for AlUla. The rooms form a circle around a central courtyard. The design takes three features of traditional houses across the wider region, the courtyard, the latticed window and the wind catcher, and builds them with 3D printing.

The walls that divide the rooms are designed to be 3D-printed in mud. Arched latticed windows would filter the sun and keep the rooms private. At the main entrance, the staircase shaft is the tallest segment of the circle and is designed to double as a wind catcher, or barjeel.
